Jensen Huang shared a missed opportunity at the company’s AI summit in Tokyo last year. Nearly a decade ago, Masayoshi Son, founder of SoftBank, offered to lend Huang the money to buy NVIDIA outright, believing the stock market had undervalued the company.
Huang, who declined the offer, joked, “Now I regret not taking you up. That was a great idea.” At the time, NVIDIA’s stock was trading under $2 per share—but since then, it has soared over 100-fold, fueled by its leadership in the AI boom.
Son also reflected on SoftBank’s sale of its 4.9% stake in NVIDIA in 2019 for $4 billion—now worth over $200 billion.

ZipString appeared on “Shark Tank” on January 13, 2023.
Founders Josh Conway and Sean Toolan demonstrated their toy that makes a string look like it’s floating in mid-air. They asked for investment to grow their business and got $100,000 from Lori Greiner and Mark Cuban in exchange for 20% of the company.
After the show, ZipString grew rapidly. With Lori and Mark’s help, they introduced new toy designs, partnered with big retailers, improved their online store, and boosted sales. “Shark Tank” gave them the exposure and support they needed to succeed and become popular in the toy market.

The idea of treating a company like a family doesn’t hold up. In a real family, you don’t fire people. But companies often let people go when needed, even if they’ve worked hard. So calling it a family is misleading.
Reed believes a company works more like a pro sports team. Everyone is there to perform at a high level, and each person has to bring real value. The goal is to win together, and while you’re supported, you’re also expected to earn your place through consistent results.

Snactiv is basically a little tool that helps you eat snacks without getting your fingers all messy. It’s like a small handle you can attach to a snack bag, so you can eat chips, popcorn, or whatever without the greasy residue getting on your hands.
On Shark Tank, the founders showed off the product and made their pitch. The Sharks seemed interested, and there was some back-and-forth with the investors, which is typical for the show. It was one of those fun, quirky inventions that grabbed attention because it solves a problem a lot of people didn’t even realize they had!

Bill Gates was hit in the face with a pie on February 4, 1998, in Brussels, Belgium.
Why?
It was a prank orchestrated by Noël Godin, a Belgian writer and notorious prankster known for “entartage” — throwing pies at celebrities and public figures as a form of satire or protest against perceived arrogance or power.
Godin said the pieing was to “humble the powerful.” Gates, as one of the world’s richest men and head of Microsoft at the time, was targeted as a symbol of corporate power.
Despite the incident, Gates remained calm and didn’t retaliate or press charges.

Michael Jordan made around $90 million in total salary during his NBA career—but that’s nothing compared to what he earns from Nike. Thanks to the iconic Air Jordan brand, Jordan reportedly makes over $150 million every year just from his Nike deal. That’s more than he made in 15 seasons on the court—combined.
